The week was very unusual. My daughter was sick and missed four days of school. My grandma had a fall and was (is) needing care and company. I had a full schedule including a book signing event, coaching clients, and hosting teleseminars. I know I am not alone in my busy life, with more and more women being responsible for caring for their kids, helping out their parents, and supporting their own household financially and organizationally.
While the busyness ebbs and flows, I am grateful to have peace. The primary factors that keep things afloat and at ease during busy, unpredictable times are these three foundational aspects of my life.
My life is an exercise of trust that I am loved, provided for abundantly, and of great worth. All I have to do is yield to the perfect will of God in my life. Even though things don’t turn out the way I expect, I know that there is divine order in my world. This is especially true when I make mistakes. Popular positive psychology offers great tools to use for setting goals, making changes in life, and shifting beliefs. My ultimate resource is to be connected with a Higher Power. Only then can I accomplish any good thing.
I am so grateful that I have set up systems in my home office and in my business to take as much work out of the equation as much as possible. There are still times when I recreate the wheel. There are lots of times I find myself working out the kinks. Once that creative and wonderful work is done, having products and services delivered and duplicated automatically lifts a huge burden off my shoulders. Being organized and knowing exactly where things are helps, too.
So many wonderful people in my life are supporting me. When I look around and count how much they do and help, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. My husband, my family, my kids’ schools, my neighbors, my church family, my work colleagues, my clients, my coaches, my friends, and the list goes on and on. It is also very important to have a back up plan, and a back up to the back up, just in case.
I appreciate how much these aspects of my life sustain my ability to juggle so much and actually enjoy it. I can grow in each of these areas in a huge way. There is so much that I can improve. For now, I am happy that I have the luxury of being able to work from home and also be present for my loved ones.
